... They have experience in sequence analysis, analysis of high throughput data, and work on mathematical models of biochemical pathways and processes using ODE based or stochastic simulation techniques. They are looking for partners working in molecular or cell biology interested in prognostic or predictive biomarkers and cancer research.
Article Description: The interests are (1) Statistical data analysis in biology and biomedicine and (2) Mathematical modeling of biochemical and physiological processes. Regarding (1): They have a strong background in biostatistics and data analysis and experience in sequence analysis (e.g. methylation patterns), statistical analysis of high throughput data (e.g. microarrays, peptide chips, proteomics, SNP and copy number data in cancer research). Currently they are collaborating with experimental groups in the field of cancer research, where we develop statistical methods and perform data analysis for early stage biomarker discovery. Regarding (2): They also develop mathematical models of biochemical pathways and processes using ODE based or stochastic simulation techniques. Currently they are working on a mathematical model of potassium homeostasis in saccharomyces cerevisiae. For this they are collaborating with different experimental groups. They have gained considerable experience in establishing a systems biology cycle between theory and experimentation.
