Kurzfassung

A Swiss research institution is coordinating a European research project (FP7) on the development of new mobile services secured by biometric authentication using face and voice. The main goal of the project is to secure the link between the user and the device. The research institution offers the possibility to a partner to implement a demonstrator fulfilling its use case. Mobile application providers needing authentication are sought.

Details

This ongoing FP7 European research project has the objective to develop new mobile services secured by biometric authentication means, more particularly using the face and the voice, individually or jointly.
The project partners have developed a set of core technologies for mobile face and speaker authentication and are currently experimenting these technologies in the Maemo environment, on the recent Nokia N900 mobile device.

In 2008, the partners of the research project already identified a set of use case scenarios in the above activities pointed out by RISEPTIS (Research and Innovation for SEcurity, Privacy and Trustworthyness in the Information Society) such as:
- secured banking transactions
- mobile-payment (m-payment)
- kindergarten services
- trusted peer-to-peer video chat.

To the light of RISEPTIS current recommendations, the research project coordinator would like to consider new use case scenarios. To achieve that goal, they are calling for a partnership and for use cases directly from companies and vendors in mobile identity management services or infrastructures.
The most promising use case scenario(s) will be chosen and a demonstration prototype(s) on the Nokia N900 will implement with NO COST for the selected partners.

For uses case submitted before the 3rd of May, prototype(s) may be presented at the upcoming Biometrics 2010 Exhibition and Conference, in London on October 19-21 2010, where all the partners who sent their use cases will be duly acknowledged and the selected partners will be invited.
