Management of demanding waste streams

A workshop and networking event on the “Effective Management of Demanding Waste Streams via New Technologies“ will take place in Athens on the 24th of May 2008, parallel to the Ecotec 2008 exhibition (23-26 May).

IRC HELP-FORWARD is the main organiser of the event, with the support of its partners representing the industrial world in Greece i.e. Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) & Federation of Industries of Northern Greece (FING).
The event will bring together Greek & other European players from both the demand & the supply side with a view to fostering complementarity & transnational contacts. It will thus provide a good opportunity for European companies that have not yet established contacts in Greece to get an overview of the market & to meet several Greek companies in one single visit.

Management of hazardous waste & other specific waste streams such as hospital waste, animal by-products & food/agro waste will be the main focus areas of the event. The agenda will include presentations from:

• Greek technology recipients (industries, companies, public authorities, etc.) on various waste management issues & problems.
• Foreign companies with technology solutions. 
• National organisations in charge of funding schemes for application of waste management technologies.
  

One-to-one meetings between participants will follow with a view to forming transnational partnerships.

The event is taking place in the context of METTTES , a European project aiming at More Efficient Transnational Transfer of Technologies in the Environmental Sector by matching technology demand with appropriate technology solutions from all over Europe.
