EcoCluP Water Matchmacking Event

Anglian Water, the European Eco-innovation Cluster Partnership (EcoCluP) and The Water Innovation Network invite you to participate in a one day European conference and matchmaking event for companies in the water supply and wastewater treatment sector.
The event is supported by Anglian Water, one of the largest water utility companies in the UK with over 1,200 water and wastewater treatment works and 800,000km of water and wastewater pipes. Anglian Water will spend €2.2bn over the next 5 years on capital infrastructure and assets whilst committing to reduce water usage per capita; reduce embodied and operational carbon; and move towards energy self sufficiency.

Anglian Water are looking for innovative companies in the supply chain to come forward with products, services and ideas which can help them address these challenges. However, some of the key areas where innovative solutions are being sought by Anglian Water include:
 • Optimisation of existing assets
 • Low cost water recycling
 • Pressure management
 • Anaerobic wastewater treatment
 • Integrated water smart meters across a region
 • Combined waste treatment and energy generation
 • Biosolids management
 • Algae cultivation for generation of biofuels
 • Real time condition monitoring and early warning of asset failure
 • 3D maps of underground assets
 • Energy self-sufficient wastewater operation
 • Unlinking asset operation with climatic changes
 • Self-maintaining fully automated assets

Anglian Water is a proactive water utility company that wants to create a culture that embraces new solutions (with end user involvement) that involves the supply chain in the innovation process. The Water Innovation Network supports this "open innovation" principal by providing the supply chain with information on the needs and challenges of the end user and provides support to allow innovation to take place. Agenda

The event on November 22nd will be split into two parts. In the morning, there will be presentations from Anglian Water on the challenges and opportunities of water supply and wastewater treatment. British Water will also present on innovation challenges and opportunities across the whole of the UK supply chain (TBC). After a networking lunch, there will be a business matchmaking event where supply chain companies will get a chance to meet each other one-to-one through pre-arranged meetings, including representatives from Anglian Water. On November 23rd (still to be confirmed), we will take interested delegates on a one day site visit to one of Anglian Water's water treatment works and to a wastewater treatment facility in the East of England so delegates can see the problems and challenges first-hand.
The event is being organised by the Water Innovation Network, an online open innovation portal for companies to submit ideas to the water industry. The brokerage event is being funded by the European Commission's Eco-Innovation Cluster Partnership (EcoCluP) project and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN).
