GEO2 2008 - Brokerage Event "Sustainable Development"

After 15 sessions as the leading fair in its sector, PROMA, the International Environment Exhibition, has changed and evolved into GEO2, the Sustainable Development Fair. Innovation and differentiation will provide GEO2 2008 with new content, new items, higher quality and greater return for all participating companies and institutions. The 3 pillars of sustainable development, namely environment and energy, economy and society, will become the true leading players of this inspiring first edition of GEO2 that will be held in the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) from 4 to 7 November 2008.

Within the framework of GEO2 2008, the Basque Enterprise Europe Network, the Cluster Association of Environmental Industries of the Basque Country (ACLIMA), the Energy Cluster Association of the Basque Country and the Basque Energy Board (EVE) will organise, in collaboration with the Sector Groups Renewable Energy and Environment, a Brokerage Event on Sustainable Development that will take place on 6 and 7 November 2008.

The Bokerage Event focus on the three sectors that structure the GEO2 exhibition:

1. Sustainable development, Environment and Energy:

Water – Air – Waste – Polluted soils – Noise – Energy production – Energy efficiency – Renewable energies: offshore wind, onshore wind, waves and tides, solar thermal, solar photovoltaic, hydroelectric, mini-hydroelectric, geothermal, biomass, biogas and biofuel – Research and technology – Testing, metering, regulation and control – Urban and industrial cleaning.

2. Sustainable development and Economy:

Land organisation – Sustainable building – Ecodesign – Sustainable tourism – Sustainable transport – Natural environment and biodiversity – Efficient forest management – Rural development – Sustainable marine resources – Climate change.

3. Sustainable development and Society:

Sustainable consumption – Environmental information – Environmental education – Corporate Social Responsibility.
