From 21 to 23 April, approximately 150 companies, organisations, research institutes and public authorities from more than 16 countries will meet in Viborg at the matchmaking event PAVE Viborg2008 to discuss future co-operation within biomass, bioenergy and environmental technology.
The event is the last in a series of four matchmaking events within environment and energy, the previous events have focussed on water and waste water, waste and recycling, and renewable energy and energy efficiency. The PAVE concept dates back to 2003 and since then more than 1,200 companies have met to discuss future co-operation.
PAVE Viborg2008 will take place in Tinghallen, the conference and music centre in Viborg, and the participating companies, organisations, research institutes and public authorities will have the opportunity to meet for half an hour with up to 20 others within the same sector to establish whether there is ground for further co-operation. The meetings are set up based on meeting wishes submitted by the participants prior to the event and not based on matching done by the organiser.
The participants will also have the opportunity to set up on the spot meetings and meet informally with other participants at the welcome reception on Monday 21 April and the evening reception on 23 April.
PAVE Viborg2008 will be opened by the Danish Minister for Climate and Energy, Mrs Connie Hedegaard together with Viborg’s Mayor Mr Johannes Steensgaard, Chairman of the Regional Council, Mr Bent Hansen and Entrepreneurship and SME Policy Adviser, Mr Christian Weinberger from the European Commission.
The participants will, while in Viborg, also have the opportunity to visit Aarhus University’s Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and their biogas test facility (the largest in the world) and attend a lecture by Mr Jørgen Olesen, Professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and member of the UN’s Nobel Prize winning Climate Panel, and his colleague, Senior Researcher Uffe Jørgensen.
Registration deadline for the event is 4 April 2008
