The conference aims to strengthen ties and existing partnerships between European and Arab nations in the SME sector and to achieve maximum benefit from the existing programmes and funds launched by governments of both sides for the purpose of assisting SMEs in development and rehabilitation. This will enable SMEs to increase their competitiveness and export capacities, particularly under the challenges of the global financial crises, in order to join the global production network and strongly enter the global market place. Transfer of know-how and technology from Europe to the Arab world as well as providing the incentives for joint Arab-European investment projects are also some of the main objectives of the conference.

Up to now, approximately 300 participants and speakers from ministries, governmental institutions, organization, NGOs and companies from the European Union and the Arab World have registered to take part in this high profile conference and the number is increasing at a speedy rate to reach an expected number of 500 participants and 30 speakers.
The organizers will hold brokerage meetings (B2B meetings on the last day on the sidelines of the conference (see agenda).
